FAQs

What should I wear when camping in bad weather?

If you're planning on braving the wet and windy weather, keeping yourself protected against the elements is really important. You'll need to make sure you're layering up with warm tops, jacket and waterproof coats. Be sure to also bring a pair of walking gaiters and waterproof shoes or boots, as well as thick socks to keep your feet warm.

What shoes should I take with me camping?

This really depends on where it is you're going camping, and what activities you plan to do whilst you're there. If you're going summer camping, you'll be fine with a pair of trainers and some sandals or flip-flops when you're by the pool or at the beach. For water sports and beach trips, Wood To Water's range of wet shoes offer the perfect footwear options! However, if you're expecting poor weather or you're going somewhere colder, you're best off investing in a pair of waterproof walking boots.

What should I sleep in whilst camping?

The best way to stay warm and comfortable in a camping tent is with our range of sleeping bags. For extra cosiness, we stock 2 in 1 sleeping bags and jackets, keeping you safe and insulated against the harshest of weather conditions.

What clothing material is best for camping?

You should look for camping clothing that is waterproof and windproof, as this will keep you warm, dry and comfortable no matter the weather. Cotton and wool are both great materials for keeping you warm and cosy, but if you're expecting wet weather, then fabrics such as nylon, polyester and fleece are ideal. These materials also tend to be lightweight, so they won't take up too much room in your bag!
